Imagine grabbing a cold beer from a vending machine at your next sports game. This could soon be a reality, thanks to Dispension, a Nova Scotia-based company. They are pioneering the introduction of automated beer vending machines in stadiums across Canada.
The process is straightforward: the vending machine scans a government-issued photo ID to verify the purchaser’s age before dispensing a can of beer. To ensure responsible consumption, the machines can be programmed to limit the amount of alcohol sold. Additionally, Dispension is working on incorporating biometric technology to detect impairment.
While this innovative approach could revolutionize beverage service at events, some experts have raised concerns about potential risks and regulatory challenges.
